California native Glenna R. Schroeder-Lein has a history PhD from the University of Georgia. She has taught at four colleges and universities, worked as a documentary editor with The Papers of Andrew Johnson and the Abraham Lincoln Papers, and spent ten years as a manuscript librarian for the non-Lincoln manuscripts at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library. Her publications include the books Confederate Hospitals on the Move: Samuel H. Stout and the Army of Tennessee, The Encyclopedia of Civil War Medicine, and Lincoln and Medicine, in addition to numerous articles and book reviews.
